Jaipur: Fifteen people died because of Covid-19 in 24 hours in the state, taking the toll as a whole to 9,059.
This has become a serious cause of concern for health authorities because death increases worrying every seven days in January.
In the first seven days, the state reported five deaths, which rose to 22 in seconds.
But in the last seven days (from 15 to 21 January), 68 people died of Covid, took the toll victims for that month to 95.
The death rate also doubled in seven days.
From January 8 to 21, the state mortality rate was 0.04% but now it increased to 0.08% in the last seven days.
Daily Covid cases have also increased at a faster speed.
On Friday, the country reported 16,878 new cases, bringing a total calculation to 11,00,961.
With continuous new infections, active cases rose from 7.80.99 to 84,787.
Jaipur remains the worst-affected district because Covid reported 4,035 new cases on Friday.
The active case in the city also jumped from 20,090 to 21,339 in 24 hours.
Of the 11 districts that reported 15 deaths on Friday, Jaipur witnessed three deaths, while two were reported from Ajmer, Bikaner, and each of Tonk, Sikar, Rajsamand, Nagaur, Barmer and Bharatpur.
The weekly front level has increased, from 3.4% in the first seven days to 11.7% in seconds, followed by 18.5% in the past seven days.
This shows now 18-19 samples from every 100 have been tested positively in the last seven days, which was almost six times reported in the first seven days.
A senior health department official said that they now collected more samples for testing.
“We collected more than 60,000 samples every day for testing,” said a senior health department official.
In January (starting January 1 to January 21), the level of participation reached 12.1%.
