15 held for social media posts sent to Judicial Detention

Guwahati: All 15 people, who were arrested from Friday night to Saturday night for alleged posting messages on the social media platform to support the Taliban Afghanistan takeover, sent to detention after being produced before the court in their respective regions on Sundays.
Said this, the Director General of Police Additional (Special Branch), Hiren Chandra Nath, said, “No more arrests have been made after catching 15 people.
Investigations into cases are ongoing.
The evidence is being collected.
Chargesheet against the defendant will soon be submitted.” He said the police monitored the social media platform if the post was still up.
The defendant, was arrested from 12 districts, including a Student of Tezpur Medical College, a police officer, three Maulanas, a teacher and journalist.
Head of Minister Assam Himanta Buswa Sarma respected the police for arresting 15 alleged Taliban supporters on Saturday from various parts of the country.
“Assam must be crime free.
Murder, violence, hatred – this must be removed from the country.
And we will continue to work until we reach our goals,” he said.
The defendant has been ordered below 120 (b), 153 (a), 505 (1) (c) and 505 (2) of Indian Criminal Code (covering conspiracy, posting content slanderous, religious violations) and section 39 of UA (P) Act , 1967 (includes support to terrorist organizations).
Part of the Information Technology Act was also applied to the defendant.
The Assam State Jamiat Ulama on Sunday to suspend Maulana Fazlul Karim Qasmi, Secretary General of the All India United Democratic Front from Darrang District, from secretary position with direct effect.
The decision occurred after the Assam police arrested him on Saturday to accuse “unpleasant” posts on social media that support the takeover of the Afghan Taliban.
