Thane: TMC on Tuesday sealed 15 orchestral bars located in various parts of Thane after they were found in operation even though there were covid-related sidewalks.
The action came after a sting operation aired by a channel that allegedly exposed that police Thane had allowed this Cross to walk by violating the norms.
Two senior inspectors, Anil Mangle of Naupada and Sanjay Gaikwad from Vartak Nagar Police Station, were suspended and two acc grouped into the control room.
Additional additions from the Senior Inspector of the Naupada police station were given to Ravi Kshirsagar.
Santosh Ghatekar was given an additional fee of the Senior Inspector of the Vartak Nagar Police Station.
Residents are questioned why there is no action committed against senior officers above the ACP ranking.
Residents also said gambling was also active in full swing.
Niranjan Davkhare, BJP MLC, accused: “Even though there was an action against four police officers, the perpetrators who actually run this bar in the open, we have studied.”
