Nashik: About 150 private hospitals and maternity houses in Nashik City, who have not updated licenses for the past six years, are under the Scanner of the Ministry of Health Nashik Municipal Corporation (NMC).
In accordance with the norm, mandatory for private hospitals and maternity homes to update their licenses every three years, but some private hospitals have not updated their licenses.
NMC officials said, “We will take action against private hospitals that have not updated licenses for the past 6 years.
We are in the process of sending them the final notification before starting any action.
The NMC health department has also warned action against the clinic or hospital , which operates without registration with the NMC administration.
Officials added that they would file a police complaint against such hospitals.
More than 400 private hospitals and maternity homes were registered with administration and they regularly renewed their license.
However, some failed to do it for Pandemic Covid.
Nashik Civic Body has provided an extension to a private hospital that has regularly updated their license before Covid until February ends.
There are a total of 550 private hospitals and pregnant houses in the six NMC divisions.
More than 150 private hospitals have provided care to Patient C.
