Hyderabad: The doctor at the City Hospital removes 156 kidney stones through a keyhole operation of a 50-year-old patient, a teacher, from Hubli in Karnataka.
This is a large number of kidney stones that have been removed, using laparoscopy and endoscopy instead of carrying out major operations, from patients in this country.
The man also has a rare condition, an ectopic kidney, the main organ is located near his stomach instead of his normal position.
Basavaraj Madiwallar, had experienced sudden pain near his stomach and screening showed the presence of large cluster kidney stones.
156 stones are extracted after a procedure that lasts for three hours.
