Bhubaneswar: The capital city has reported 16 new cases of dengue fever until Wednesday.
With this, the total number of cases of dengue fever touches 107 in the city this season.
The Ministry of Health has intensified awareness to prevent the spread of further disease.
The total number of cases of dengue fever was 39 on July 8, 68 cases were added a week.
There are no cases of deaths reported this year, the official source said.
Interyamami Mishra, Urban Urban Health Officers Additional Regency (Adu-Pho) Bhubaneswar, said 16 new Dengue cases were detected in Niladri Vihar, Sailashree Vihar and others.
“A total of 107 cases have been reported from the city since January.
Most of them have recovered from this disease,” he added.
So far the case of dengue fever has been reported from Chandrasekharpur, Sailashree Vihar, Niladri Vihar, Unit-VIII and other areas in the city.
Public Health Officials and Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) began taking preventive measures in the area to control the disease.
“To avoid mosquito bites, use a mosquito repellent, remove stagnant water, cover the open water container and use a durable insecticide net during sleep.
Stay safe from Dengue and Malaria,” said a message of awareness from the Department of Health and Family Welfare.
Aedes aegypti, mosquitoes that spread dengue fever, can breed in clean water.
This mosquito helps spread the dengue fever virus.
So, people must change the water stored in a different container for several days.
“People are worried about Covid-19 pandemic.
Dengue has rubbed salt to their wounds.
People must be more careful to stay safe during this season,” said a medical officer.
A public health official says people have to change water in air conditioning, water pots in the puja room and water container behind the refrigerator every day.
Waste ingredients containing water must be removed from the area, he added.
