Vadodara: Encroaching on government Property proved to be Expensive for the Company that Oversees the Tent City in Statue of Unity at Kevadia.

On Friday, police demolished 16 tents built illegally by Lallooji & Sons near Tent City-1 at SoU and fined the company for $ 1 lakh for cutting on trees close to the tent town without consent.
The forest division observed that the company had cut trees around Tent City-1 on May 20, after that they issued a note to Lallooji & Sons.
During question, the SoU Area Development and Tourism Governance Authority (ADTGA) realised the company had been building 16 stalls on the property adjoining to the Tent City 1, which they hadn’t obtained necessary consent.
“Garudeshwar taluka mamlatdar on Thursday issued a note to the company for perusing 4,500 sqm property and beginning lawful building job on 16 tents besides a pool on the property that goes back to the authorities.
On Friday, demolition of these tents started,” stated a SoU spokesperson.
“managing director of Lalluji and Sons, Deepanshu Agrawal, looked ahead of the forest division and confessed felling the trees as well as the illegal building work.
The forest department insisted that the company Rs 1 lakh and cautioned itnot to resort to such actions in the future,” the spokesperson added.
The mamlatdar has issued a show-cause note to business asking why action should not be removed from it beneath the Land Grabbing Act.
It’s been requested to send agent for hearing in the mamlatdar’s office on Saturday.
The Tent City-1 currently has 58 tents which stay occupied during peak tourist time.
The Tourism Corporation of Gujarat Ltd (TCGL) who had given host into the firm can also run an inquiry into the episode.
