PUDUCHERRY: Sixteen children have been tested positive for Covid-19 in Puducherry in the past week even when the government announced his decision to delay the reopening of the school (for class IX to XII students) and universities on July 16.

Sixteen children, who were positively tested for Covid-19, were undergoing treatment at Indira Gandhi Medical College and Research Institute (IGMCRI) in the Union Puducherry area.
Twelve of them are between one and five years while four are over five years.
Five newborns from Covid-19 Positive Mothers were observing IgMcri.
One baby was tested negatively for a temporary infection from four other babies awaited.
Territory reported 103 new cases even when 122 patients recovered to reduce active cases to 1.307 on Friday.
From them, 1,050 is under isolation and home care.
Puducherry reported maximum new cases with 81 followed by Karaikan (14), MAHE (7) and Yanam (1).
Puducherry headquarters has a maximum active case with 1,027 followed by Karaikan (177), MAHE (77) and Yanam (26).
A 73-year-old woman from Mahe died because the infection took the death toll to 1,773.
Puducherry headquarters have maximum death with 1,412 followed by Karaikan (223), Yanam (104) and Mahe (34).
Infection mortality rates reach 1.5%.
Territory reported 1.19 lakh cases where 1.16 lakh patients recovered the recovery rate of 97.4%.
The sample front level (6,367) tested on Thursday reached 1.6%.
The health authorities have so far tested 14.07 lakh swab samples where 12.01 lakh samples are returned negatively.
They have provided a dose of Covid-19 6.2 lakh vaccine (including the second dose).
