16 years interact with PM Modi virtually

Mangaluru: Remona Evette Pereira, 16, I PUC (Art) Students from Padua PU College of Karnataka interact with Prime Minister Narendra Modi to be chosen for Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Purascar (PMRBP) through video conferencing on Monday.
He has received an award for his extraordinary achievement in the fields of art and culture.
He is the only one from the country to receive awards.
Video conferences arranged at the Dakshina Kannada Zilla Panchayat (ZP) office in the presence of CEO Kumar ZP, who also raised him after the interaction.
The Prime Minister congratulated Remona and appreciated his efforts and learned to dance at the age of three years.
During the interaction, Remona told PM that his mother had become an inspiration and he introduced it to Indian culture and various aspects of dance.
“I want to spread the color and wealth of Indian culture throughout the world,” he said.
PM told the dancer that his achievements were far greater than he was and told him that art he was a way to express the power of a great country.
In the challenge, he told PM that his mother faced a lot of trouble after his father died.
He worked hard to make him accepted in dance school and ensure that he and his brother were educated.
In return, he wants to make his family and teacher proud.
To find out that he danced on glass pieces, PM asked him about challenges.
In response, he said, that his mother would try it first and it was all about practice and hard work.
It takes a lot of time to stand on glass pieces.
PM appreciates the efforts entered by his mother.
After the interaction, Remona told the Toi that he was happy to interact with the Prime Minister and hoped he could visit Delhi to receive the award.
Remona aspires to enter the Guinness Book of World Records in Dance, performing a PhD in Bharakatyam, continuing to study new forms of dance and teach students who rewind economically.
“The award came as a surprise and came after trying for the past five years,” he said.
He is the daughter of Pereira Averest Everest and Gladys Pereira.
His Gurus is Shrivivyya Murlidhar for Bharakanatyam, Gautam Bhattacharya-acrobatics and other forms of dance, Pramod and Western and Manoj for folk dances.
He had studied Bharakathyam for 13 years and has entered the Indian notebook to use almost 25 props and dance for more than an hour, Bharat notebooks and books of gold from world records.
He has also received several state and district awards.
