Ranchi: Jharkhand has a total of 160 mucormycosis (black mushrooms) which was reported where the majority was reported from seven districts.
Of the total, 101 cases have been confirmed while 59 allegedly have fungal infections.
Note The Ministry of Health said patients suffering from infections were treated at 11 health care facilities throughout the state which included the largest hospital rim here.
Apart from the rim, MGM JAMSHEDPUR and Hazaribag Medical College and hospitals are other medical colleges who treat black mushroom patients.
Six Private Hospitals – Medica, Raj, Maa Ram Pyari, Lal’s Hospital Care and Hospital in Ranchi and Tata Main Hospital in Jamshedpur – also treated infected patients.
Among the seven districts who have seen the prevalence of higher infection are Ranchi with a total of 62 cases followed by East Singhbhum with 24 cases.
While Hazaribag reported 11 cases, Bokaro and Garhwa reported eight each.
Ramgarh and girech each have seven cases.
Seven of these districts contributed 126 cases.
