Chandrapur: Dengue and a spiral malaria case, in rural and urban areas, has placed a health machine with toes.
While 160 cases of new dengue fever have been detected until August 21, Malaria has claimed five lives, four of them in Sindewahi Tehsil, this month.
Although there are cases scattered during the early months of this year, the district witnessed the Dengue Spurt in July.
A total of 105 dengue cases were detected in July, including 59 of Chandrapur City and 46 of rural areas.
160 dengue fever patients included 59 of Chandrapur City and 101 from rural areas.
The total number of cases of dengue infection in the district has grown to 274, with Chandrapur City just contributing 121 to the calculation.
Dengue so far claims three lives, all young, in the district so far.
The victims included Preti Urkude (20) from Ukharda Village in Warora, Dharmadip Karmankar (21) and Harshali Walamkar (9 months) both from Nanda Village in Korpana Tehsil.
The three deaths have occurred in July.
Malaria has also spread its tentacles along with bloody fever.
While the malaria case has grown to 94 this year, this includes 44 of the first 21 days of August.
Five patients had died of malaria this month and four of them came from Sindewahahi Tehsil.
The Ministry of Health’s sources claim that five patients are victims of the most dangerous malaria – Malaria Falciparum.
The five deaths from malaria have occurred in August this year.
These include Koma Kumle (45) from Wadhona in Nagbhid Tehsil, Kartik Thakre (15) from Savargatta, Jiwan Khobragade (40), Ashok Meshram (40) and Kunal Khobragade (14) from Chikmara Village in Sindewahahah Tehsil.
Sensing Gravity Situation, Head of the Legislative Public Account Committee and Mla Sudhir Mungantiwar held a meeting with the Ministry of Health, Corporation Corporation Chandrapur officers, and ZP officers, and directed them to make large-scale prevention steps.
He directed ZP and City officials to send proposals to procure fogging machines under mining development funds into collectors and took a large-scale awareness drive to this disease.
