Coimbatore: 6,192 employees will be deployed to conduct elections for City Corporation, Commissioner of King Gopal Sunkara said after holding a meeting with representatives of political parties on Friday to tell them about the guidelines issued by the State Election Commission.
“All steps take place to conduct urban local agencies in a fair and transparent way,” said Gopal Sunkara King.
He said 15 flying teams had been formed to examine violations of selection rules, standard operating procedures for Covid-19 and bribed voters.
They will monitor all the time.
Complaints received from the public through the control room established in the main building Corporation will be forwarded to the team.
“Members of the flying team have been identified to take strict action on violators.
In terms of the appropriate Covid-19-appropriate behavior violations, the teams have been instructed to order violators based on part 188 from IPC and disaster management laws.

The team will install a voting machine in the poll and shift them into the counting room after the vote ended, Commissioner added.
