Ludhiana: A total of 16968 cases were disposed of in place during the National Lok Adalat held here by the District Legal Services Authority on Saturday in the District Judicial Complex.
Investigating details, the legal service authority of Prabhjot Secretary of the Prabhjot Singh Kaleka said that said that Lok Adalat National was held in the district under the leadership of the chairman of the District Law Service Authority and District Judges and Singles sessions.
He said that during the national Lok Adalat 31 bench in the district and six at the sub-division level was formed to delay criminal compound cases in court including Chalan Traffic, Bank and others.
Singh said that as long as the National Loco Adalat 24143 case was listed to hear before these benches where 16968 was resolved in place.
The District Secretary’s legal service authority said that compensation worth Rs 102.03 Crore was completed during this Lok.
He said that people can approach the district legal service authority or the court concerned for the settlement of cases through Lok is.
Singh said that Lok Adalat’s decision was final, which could not be challenged further.
He said that it was a role in saving time and public money besides promoting harmony among people.
He said that people could also resolve their cases through a mediation center in the district of the District Court complex.
