17 countries do not have an action plan for air pollution, revealing RTI

Nagpur: This winter too, citizens in most countries will breathe poisonous air, with 17 countries even do not have a plan to defeat air pollution, disclose documents purchased based on the Rights Act on Information (RTI).
Analysis of important documents by the legal initiative of non-profit organizations for forests and the environment (life) revealed that state level interventions – compile and implement action plans under the National Clean Air Program (NCAP) – not yet begun.
NCAP was launched in 2019 to improve air quality in 102 polluted cities in this country.
While analysis found that no steps by the Central or State Authority had been taken to formulate a plan, the more highlight that the planned actions at the city level were based on “unscientific approaches”, by not considering rural air pollution or local pollution sources.
In accordance with RTI documents, 17 countries have not formulated air action plans, the time limit of 2020.
“From the response it is clear that no countries are not even aware that the state action plan must be prepared.
This makes the most of the city and landscapes contaminated from The scope of the application of mitigation measures, “declared analysis.
The wise review of the city revealed that the plan for Ghaziabad and Noida, the two large metropolitan areas were almost identical.
“The same action has been given to two cities, which means that their specific pollution profiles have not been taken into account at all.
Both plans do not have specific targets for pollution,” read the analysis.
Likewise in Guwahati, the plan limits itself to the city limits, although Kumbrup and MEGHALAYA COMMUNICATION COMMUNITY SEARCH is a pollution hotspot, becoming the center for industrial and mining activities.
“Kolkata’s action plan missed the opportunity to utilize the existing tram train system, which is a mode of public transportation free emissions,” said analysis.
Further mentioned, “In the case of Pune, the neighboring Pimpri-Chinchwad area is home to many industries of pollution, emissions from where directly polluted air pune but not handled in the action plan.” Declare that each NCAP component until the date has become a total failure, managing the Ritwick Dutta’s lifespan, “the fact that there is no state government or even the central pollution control board (CPCB) is aware of the legal requirements of the state action plan to reflect the casual approach to all authorities.
The need for a thorough independent review of what happens in the last two and a half years of NCAP implementation.
“In the air quality monitoring program, Sunil Dahiya, analyst with a research center on energy and clean air (Crea), said,” This is a sad truth that data Manually monitored air quality of the majority of 800 stations has not been available by the countries concerned in a transparent way.
“Dahiya added,” it is important to establish a collection protocol and share more real-time and transparent data, which can only be possible with extensive network monitoring stations Continuous ambient air quality spread throughout the country.
