NEW DELHI: The number of cases of Covid-19 has declined continuously since India reported the second wave peak on May 7, said an official of the Ministry of Health on Tuesday.
“With sustainable detention efforts, there has been a constant decline in cases since India reported the peak on May 7, including a progressive decline in cases in the district.

Speaking of testing Covid-19 for early detection of the spread of infection, he added that around 21 samples of lakh were tested every day during the peak of the second wave, and even now after decreasing the number of daily Covid cases, around 18 lakh samples were being tested every day.
Describe the country’s Covid vaccination status, he said, “A total of 27.27crore people have been covered with the first dose of vaccines, while people of 5.84 crore have been covered with the second dose of vaccines.” Collectively, 33.11 crore people have been vaccinated in India so far.
The UNI Ministry of Health added that India had led differently in the total dose of the vaccine managed in the world.
“Beyond the US, India took 163 days to reach 32 crore benchmarks.
The US took 193 days,” the Ministry added.
The Ministry of Health further added that a total of 51 Delta Plus cases were reported in India.
With regard to the Moderna Covid-19 vaccine, Dr.
VK Paul, Niti Aayog members said, “new drug permit has been given to Moderna, the vaccine developed internationally.
This new drug permit is for limited use.” “There are four vaccines now Covaxin, Covishield, Sputnikv and Moderna.
We will immediately close the agreement on the Pfizer too,” he added.
Dr.
Paul also mentions that the four vaccines (covaxin, covishield, sputnikv, and moderna) are safe for nursing mothers and that they have no connection with infertility.
“Advisers for pregnant women in connection with vaccination will be released soon.
This vaccine is safe for pregnant women, and the Ministry of Health is examining further,” he said.
