New Delh: A total of 17 people were injured after the LPG cylinder exploded in a house in Northwest Delhi’s Azadpur on Sunday.
According to the police, the incident was reported at around 10 am in a house near the Lalbagh Mosque.
“The caller told us about fire at his home and that five people were injured,” said an officer.
After the rescue work was complete, it was found that 17 people suffered burns.
“There are no casualties,” the officer added.
According to fire engines, they sent three fire tenders to the place after receiving a call.
Later, another fire tender was sent.
Official API found the LPG cylinder was the cause of the explosion.
Someone changed the gas cylinder at his home on the third floor.
An explosion occurred and the roof and wall collapsed.
Because of its impact, four other houses on the second floor collapsed, the officer said.
A resident said the two floors of the house was completely damaged.
“Some people, including those from my family, suffered injuries.
We didn’t realize if there was a cylinder leak,” he said.
The police have registered the case below section 285 (negligent behavior in connection with fire or flammable material), 337 (causing pain due to acting to endanger the personal life or safety of others) and 427 (damage that causes damage to the number of RS 50) Police Offices Adarsh Nagar.
