Done/ALVI Kanpur: As many as 17 kids from the age group of 6 years-12 years are becoming a part of their Covid vaccine trial have been held at the area.
They have been administered the first dose of Covaxin in Prakhar hospital on Wednesday.
Though most of the kids were shipped straight back home, the specialists will track any response of this vaccine on these for next weekly.
This is actually the next group of kids who were treated Covaxin as part of the disease trial.
Last week, kids from the age range of 12 years to 18 years had been treated the vaccine.
Thus far, 37 kids, belonging to both age classes, have been awarded Covaxin jab and they’re being tracked, said chief researcher for Covaxin trial, Dr JS Kushwaha while speaking to TOI.
He said from 37 kids, 17 were awarded Covaxin shot Wednesday.
They have been in the years to 12 years age group.
“We must comprise 50 kids within this particular trial.
Thus far, trials on 37 kids are completed.
Now, kids in the two years-6 years age class are abandoned to get the very first shot.
However, this task is going to be completed only after obtaining approval from your ICMR”, Dr Kushwaha stated.
He said a physician few from Lucknow arrived in the vaccine trial website together with their brothers that had been at the 6-12 years age category.
“We handled a vaccine jab to the women”, he added.
