Chennai: new casts fell to 1,933 cases on Friday compared to 1,942 on Thursday.
Thirty-four new deaths pushed toll on 34,462, when the cumulative case counted 25.84 lakh.
After the use of 1,887 people, the state was allowed by 20,411 active cases.
On Friday, at least 17 districts reported an increase, and the highest difference reported by any district in the last 24 hours compared to Tally Thursday was 13.
Coimbatore, which has the highest number of new cases, reported the sharpest decline of 249 cases.
On Thursday to 236 on Friday.
Salem reported the sharpest increase to 120 cases compared to 94 on Thursday, followed by Tiruppur, where cases rose to 105 cases from 83 during the same period.
Six districts, dindigul, tubkasi, Thirupathur, Perambal, Virudhunagar and Ramanathapuram reported cases in one digit.
Besides Coimbatore, Chennai (211) is the only district to report more than 200 new cases.

Of the 34 deaths, Coimbatore and Chennai reported five respectively.
While Thanjavur and Tiruppur reported three deaths respectively, five districts reported two deaths, eight districts reported one death and 21 districts reported zero death.
Meanwhile, 2.5 lakh people took vaccines on Friday taking a dose of tally in government centers to 2.40 crores.
In addition, 18.01 doses have been given in private hospitals since May 1.
