THANE: Almost 170 households from six buildings in Wagle Estate were discovered early Friday following the part of an adjacent, vacant, and 30-year-old dilapidated architecture collapsed, triggering anxiety.
Santosh Kadam of regional crisis management cell (Thane) stated that they had been alarmed around 5am by taxpayers, that heard a loud noise after a portion of this first floor chimney failed at Shivbhavan construction.
The five-storey construction, at D’Souzawadi, was vacated a year ago after it had been categorized in C1 class by a specialist panel.
“Buildings below are near one another, without compulsory open spaces, making it increasingly insecure during such events,” said a saving officer.
Most of the households changed into a nearby college said they had been wary of return to their own homes.
