1,782 Teams throughout India Register for the National Cross Puzzle Contest

Patna: Overall 1,782 registration was received until Sunday, a week before starting the ninth edition training round from the contest of the inter-school puzzle.
The exercise round will be held on July 25 this year.
The participants have registered from 195 cities throughout the country.
“While the maximum amount of 305 registration comes from 17 cities in Bihar, Uttar Pradesh stands at 233 registration from 36 cities.
Tamil Nadu stands third with 217 registration from 22 cities followed by Maharashtra and Karnataka each in 190 and 186 registration from nine and 11 City, “Amitabh Ranjan, the Chief Operating Officer of an extra-C-C-based organization that conducts the contest, to the TOI on Sunday.
Ranjan said the registration also came from Deep South as Andaman & Nicobar Islands and Pondicherry and as far as northeas as Meghalaya and Sikkim.
“The numbers are expected to rise in a variety of times when the contest enters the second round of the second score on August 1, 2021,” he said.
Ranjan said, the ninth edition of the CCCC Crosptic Contest (CCCC 9.0) will be held in two phases.
Given the situation of the pandemic, my phase will be held online.
During this phase, the non-assessment practices will be held on July 25, 2021 and two rounds of assessment will be held on July 31 and August 1, 2021.
The three rounds will host between 2pm and 5pm.
“Registration will remain open until 2 noon August 1, 2021,” he said.
In Phase II, the selected team will be called to round online face to face, climax in the grand offline final in New Delhi to the end of the year if the situation remains quite conducive to it, he said.
Popularly known as CCCC among school children, has become an offline event since it was founded in 2013.
Because of last year’s national locking, CCCC 2020, Eightth Edition, was also held in online mode.
Started as Sudha All-India Cryptic Crosptic Contest (SAICCC) in 2013, while celebrating the 100 years of the first crossword published by Arthur Wynne, got a change in the first name in 2014 as CBSE CROSPTIC Contest (CCCC) before obtaining the prize nomenclature day.
Played in twin phases every year, CCCC is a team contest between school teams.
In phase I, each team of two students (study in class VII-XII) participated in a written contest held in cities throughout the country.
Until 2019, it was open to students from class IX-XII.
On popular demand from school students and their mentors lead it to open the door to students from class VII up.
In Phase II, the winning team from the city round met with the national capital for the Grand Finale who determined the National Cross Champion.
