Chennai: The police stopped the marriage of children 18 in the past month and ordered as many people as possible under the Pocso Law for their involvement in crime.
Personnel from special wings for crimes against women and children are looking for a 23-year-old groom after his marriage with a 14-year-old girl in Thiru VI Ka Nagar stopped this week.
Likewise on June 28, the police stopped the marriage of another child in a temple in Kasimedu.
The girl was pregnant and the 20-year-old bride was arrested for marrying underage.
In another case in Tambaram, a 27-year-old man was arrested for impregnating a little girl.

Police make sure parents are not married to children anymore, said a police officer.
The police said the marriage occurred when schools and colleges remained closed for almost two years made it impossible to monitor the presence of women.
