18 MPS Odisha has not adopted every village under the Sory Center scheme

Bhubaneswar: Eighteen Parliamentarians from Odisha have not adopted the gram of Panchayat under the Saansad Adarsh ​​Gram Gram Yojana (SAGY) since the Government Narendra Modi returned to power for the second term in 2019.

The village development plan is prepared through a participatory process under related MP guidance.

Parliamentarians who have not adopted villages do not see useful results from the scheme.
“There is no provision of specific funds under the scheme.
In such situations, if we adopt a pancida, the hope is increasing.
However, there is no resource to fulfill it.
If we can spend the same Mplad funds, why spend it in one village?” Prasanna Acharaya asked, a member of Rajya Saba BJD who had not adopted the villagers under slack.
A BJP MP, who also has not adopted any village, said that if one village was adopted, it could trigger hostility in other villages.
BJD Amar Patnaik (Rajya Sabha) has adopted five Panchayats (Megdega, Hurmei, BAMDA, Lahandabud, and Jaricela), all in the Sundargarh district.
Amar said he chose five GPS which was most undeveloped in the Sundargarh district, which is the nodency district for the Mplad scheme.
“The Sory scheme does not have a separate budget allotment.
Basically, one can give a little from MPLAD and use it to reach convergence among all schemes.
But unfortunately, the MPLAD scheme has been frozen for two years.
So, there are no funds available.
