Lucknow: At least 18 migrant workers were destroyed to death in sleep and 25 critical injuries when a quick truck hit a stationary double-decker bus in the area of Ramsanehi Ghat Barbanki, hours after midnight on Wednesday.
The bus filled with 140 workers was on his way from Ludhiana to Bihar, when it was broken in the middle of the night on the 28th highway at Barbanki-Ayodhya’s stretch.
With air conditioning taken and Windows was sealed, many passengers got off the bus stranded and fell asleep on the road while the driver rushed to repair a broken axle.
One hour later, a truck came with a dazzling speed and collided directly by the bus, destroying passengers to fall asleep on the road and leave the vehicle in a shattered stack.
Bihar-bound birds are employed in factories in Ludhiana in Punjab, and Hisar in Haryana.
While 11 died in place, seven were declared dead at the district hospital.

The complainants in this case and fellow passengers, Sahni Falgun, 30 Sitamarhi, said, the bus was overloaded and after it was broken, the driver was looking for money from passengers for repairs.

Barbanki District Judge, Adarsh Singh, supervised rescue operations and arranged the bus for other passengers to reach Bihar.
“We form a panel of doctors to do an autopsy and simultaneously send the body to Bihar,” he said.
Eyewitness: Neeraj Kumar, 18, Sitamarhi said he was with his friends on a bus from Ludhiana, but when he reached Hisar in Haryana, the conductor stopped the vehicle in the middle and forced us to a poor Double Decker bus nearby.
Another injury, Shambhu, 29, from Madhubani, said passengers were forced to spread the sheets and sleep on the road because it was astonished in the bus with a closed window.
“When the rain starts to fall, some of them take refuge under the bus,” he said.
