Lucknow: At least 18 people died and several other people were injured after a truck hit a stationary bus in the Barbanki District Uttar Pradesh at Wee Wednesday.
“The truck hit a bus near Ram Sanehi Ghat in Barabanki last night.
At least 18 people died while others were injured.
Rescue surgery to restore the body trapped under the bus was ongoing,” said Satya Narayan Sabat, ADG, Lucknow Zone.
Barabanki SP Yamuna Prasad told reporters that the Double-Decker bus carried around 100 passengers from the Palwal district and Hisar in Haryana will go to Bihar.
“Once the bus reaches the Ramsanehat area, the axel is broken, after the bus stands still on the side of the road.
Around 2:30 a.m., a truck that quickly hit the bus stranded from behind.
The impact there are some passengers who sleep on the bus falling on the road to get a fatal injury,” Prasad said , “All those who were injured recovered at the Barbanki District Hospital,” Prasad said.
He said the passengers on the bus belonging to different Bihar districts.
Crane used to push the bus from the side of the road, police said.
The passenger body scattered throughout the road.
Eyewitnesses notify the police.
