Hyderabad: Twenty-one, including 18 women, has been arrested in Khammam District in Telangana and turned on in prison judges for allegedly attacking forest personnel, police said on Saturday.
The suspected attack took place on Tuesday, police said.
People revoke forest staff to enter their area to take afforestation, they said.
The ball-throw at Konijerla Mandal and injured several forest personnel who fled and submitted a complaint, police said.
Registered cases and investigations begin, they said.
On Friday, most of the 18 women, including three with babies, surrendered to the police and the court allowed mothers to look after the baby in prison.
Previously, on Thursday, three men were arrested, police said.
To find out the incident, the new CPI (ML) democracy issued a statement that condemned acts against women, especially those with babies.
Political parties suspected of the forestry department harassed women and framed cases against them.
The party said the women were not robbery of land or rowdies but ordinary people had a piece of land ‘podu’ to get their livelihoods.
Tanah ‘Podu’ (Podu cultivation is a form of shift) has become a bone of dispute between forest officials and the people involved in the cultivation.
