Meanwhile, 93 Covid deaths have been confirmed, taking dead to 17,748.
At the same time, 20,108 patients have recovered.
Among new cases, 17,610 has been infected through local contacts.
Infection contact sources cannot be tracked for 797 people.
Malappuram reported the highest number of cases with 3,051, followed by Thrissur (2,472), Kozhikode (2,467), Ernakulam (2,216), Palakkad (1,075), Kollam (1,075), Kannur (941), alappuzha (941)) and Thiruvananthapuram (933) .
So far, 33,57,687 people have recovered, even as 1,76,572 are still undergoing treatment.
There are 4,90,858 people currently observing in various districts, where 4,61,530 is in the center of house or institutional quarantine, and 29,328 in isolation in hospitals.
