Nagpur: In a big boost to facilitate the flow of railroad traffic, Railways India has assigned a third line of 19.2 km and electrification between wirur-manikgarh stations.
With this, a total of 84 km between Kazipet and Ballarshah have the third line facilities now.
The significant third line project on the Grand Trunk route between Kazipet-Ballarshah includes Telangana and Maharashtra.
The part between Kazipet-Ballarshah under the South Central Railway (SCR) is a vital rail link that connects the northern and south of the country.
The mainstream part below the GT route has witnessed ongoing growth of passenger traffic and goods that lead to this saturation.
To reduce this vital part, at first, three works among 33km Raghavapuram-Mandamarri finished in 2016.
The 202km third line project (Telangana 159KM & Maharashtra 43km) was subject to sanctions in 2015-16 with an estimated cost of RS2,063 Crore.
From this 202km, 31km between Potkapalli-Kollanur-Raghavapuram and 34km Raghavapuram-Mandamarri was finished.
Now, the third row job between Wirur-Manikgarh (19.2km) has finished giving a boost for the social-economic development of this region.
Mallya’s haze, General Manager SCR, praised the entire team from the Secunderabad division and construction wing, which completed three-fold work and electrification.
“The completion of the Tripling Kazipet-Ballarshah project will subside congestion in this saturation route, it will facilitate the handling of more effective trains,” Mallya said.
“Manikgarh station is an exchange point with a central train and it is an intersection that connects several cement and coal sidings.
The commissioning line Third Line on this stretch will facilitate congestion for train goods and passengers,” said Rakesh Kumar, CPRO SCR.
“The execution of the third row work of all projects is being taken simultaneously in various parts and works in the Telangana and Maharashtra region developing quickly,” Kumar added.
