New Delhi: To make Delhi Airport “ready in the future”, 19 new aircraft booths have been operational under the first phase of expansion work at Terminal 1 Indira International Airport Apron, an area where the aircraft is parked.
“Apron or Tarmac Area is being built in three phases.
In the first phase, 19 of the 82 Stan C Code C has been built.
The New Cup has become operational after legal approval from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation,” said the Delhi International Airport (Dial) told the day Wednesday.
The Code C airplane is a larger aircraft like the A320 and B737 which has wing wings between 24 meters and 36 meters.
“The completion of the first phase of work for the expansion of the new smart apron T1 is another step to improve the experience of infrastructure and passengers at Delhi airport to make it ready in the future,” said Prabhakar Rao, Deputy Director of the GMR Group implementing the Dial.
The total number of parking in T1 will increase from 55 to 82, including 22 contacts and 8 Mars standing, the dial mentioned.
The contact holder is suitable for passengers running to and from airplanes from the allocated gate, while Mars stands can serve both C code and E airplanes.
This step will not only improve operational efficiency and security at the edge of the air, but also contributes to reducing dangerous CO2 emissions, underlining dial commitments to environmentally friendly initiatives, he added.
After the phase 3a, Igia will be able to handle 140 million passengers per year, said Rao.
“The new apron will help reduce air traffic congestion on the air …
the creation of a new contact holder will cause a reduction in the number of land support equipment,” said Dial.
