Patna: A total of 19 oxygen generator units such as adsorption pressure swing plants (PSA) have been installed in various medical facilities throughout the state, while 26 are more established in District Hospitals and sub-divisions as part of government preparedness for oxygen and strengthens medical infrastructure for Anticipating the third wave of Covid-19 pandemic.
Of 19 Operational Factories, each has been installed at PMCH, NMCH-Patna, Darbhanga Medical College and Hospital (DMCH), Jawaharlal Nehru Medical College and Hospital-Bhagalpur, Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College and Hospitals, Sri Krishna Medical College and hospital-muzaffarpur, Vardhman Institute of Medical Sciences-Pawapuri, Jannayak Karpori Thakur Medical College and Hospital-Madhepura, Govt Medical College-Bettiah, Sub-Divisional Hospital in Barrh and Barsoi, District Hospital in Araggad, Munger, Arriar Sitamarhi, Muzaffarpur and Katihar.
PSA plants have a production capacity that varies from 200 liters per minute (LPM) oxygen up to 500 LPM, depending on the size of the plant.
The remaining oxygen factory will be established at the end of August, said Minister of Health Mangal Pandey.
He also said 36 district hospitals and 54 sub-division hospitals would have at least one oxygen generation plant.
“Two oxygen concentrators are provided for each additional primary health center in the state,” he said.
The two PSA factories will again be installed in the IGIMs on August 31.
Each will have the capacity to generate 1,000 liters of oxygen per minute.
“One oxygen plant plant that has the capacity to produce 233 liters of oxygen per minute has functions at the Institute.
In addition, two liquid medical oxygen tanks cryogenic (each of 20kl) will also be set.
One of the tanks has been installed,” said the medical supervisor Dr.

Vidyapati Choudhary said the Oxygen generation factory has the capacity to fill around 50 type D cylinders with natural oxygen per day.
“It can provide a supply of oxygen without interruption to 50 beds in hospitals in a day,” he told this newspaper.
