Gurgaon: School staff and universities in the city receive a Covid vaccine shot at 42 special vaccination sessions on Thursday.
The purpose of the Ministry of Health is to vaccinate the staff of all schools in the state on August 31.
As many as 1,174 people got their first jab while 30 received their second dose in their special session.
On Friday, a total of 19 special session sites will be arranged for school staff and universities in Gurgaon.
Each site will have a Covishield shot for 50 first dose recipients and 50 for the second dose receiver.
Some recipients say that they are waiting for a single dose vaccine, and thus they delay taking shots.
“I am waiting for a modern vaccine but now I decide to take it because the government has established special camps for people who work in schools and colleges,” said Joyti Sharma, a teacher in high school in Teamli.
Meanwhile, the district on Friday will have 52 additional government session sites in Gurgaon.
Of these, 45 sites will provide a covishield dose, while Covaxin will be given at six sites.
