19 years ‘without training’ loss of palms in the electricity press

Gurgaon: A 19-year-old contractual worker, who was allegedly forced to work under the shift day and night for four days stretched, lost his right hand in a power press accident at a factory on Jalan Sohna.
Shiv Pratap, who from Aligarh above, told the police that he did not only lacked sleep for four days, but was also asked to work without safety equipment on the press machine he said did not know how to handle.
The accident, police said, took place at the factory at around 2:30 p.m.
on August 8, a few minutes after Shiv returned to work after lunch.
He was taken to a private hospital in sector 11, where the palm of his right hand had to be cut off from the wrist to prevent further damage.
It was in June this year that Shiv came to Gurgaon to find work.
After a few weeks of job hunting, he was related to Dinesh, who worked as a supervisor at Sohna Road Factory made auto parts.
Dinesh has a job on a contract.
Within a few days after joining, the 19-year-old was asked to work on a press machine.
“I have no experience working on a machine like that.
It requires at least two people to handle the machine.
But I was told to work alone because the factory did not have workforce,” Shiv told Toi.
Dinesh, who assign work at the factory, will be suspected of notifying Shiv that the owner can be in his round every day and he must work more to make an impression.
“I was made to work in the day and night.
I don’t have time to sleep,” he said.
Despite the repeated complaints that the press machine was damaged, dinesh and neeraj, Lineman, allegedly ignored Shiv.
“I was told that I would lose a job if I made a complaint again,” Shiv said.
Even after losing his palm, Shiv was allegedly threatened with going to the police.
He spent the next two weeks recovering in hospitals and houses.
On August 23, he filed a complaint against Dinesh, Neeraj and factory management at the Badshapur Police Station.
A pine is listed under Section 287 (negligent behavior in connection with the machine) and 338 (causing a sad pain) from the IPC.
Dinesh, the contractor, denied forcing Shiv to work both shifts.
“Yes, he lost his palm.
But I did not have a role in the accident.
I only found a job and never disturbed his work after that.
The accusation against us was unfounded,” he added.
The police said they were investigating claims.
“Investigation is on.
We will question all workers at the factory,” said a police officer.
The accident in the car sector is not uncommon.
