Bhubaneswar: In the middle of the gloom thrown by a pandemic, at least 190 covid positive women gave a healthy baby at a dedicated Covid Hospital at MKCG Medical College and hospitals in August since it was founded in August last year.
Covid Hospital, with 150 beds and 24 ICU facilities, was inaugurated by the Head of Minister of Naveen Patnaik on August 1.
Within a few hours from the inauguration, doctors from the Gynecology Department have succeeded in carrying out caesarean section in pregnant women infected with Covid.
The count has now increased to more than 190 so far.
Superintendent Santosh Kumar Mishra said, “While the Covid Hospital saw 109 normal delivery, the remaining 81 was C-SICT.
Even after being sent home from the hospital, both the baby and their mother was in good condition.” The pediatrician cared for a newborn baby.
those infected with Covid.
In some cases, newborns put together with their mothers only after they recovered from Covid-19.
In some cases, relatives take care of babies like that.
Mishra said this must send a positive message to Positive Covid pregnant women, who are worried about the impact of viruses in their newborns.
“Nothing needs to be feared by almost all babies, which is born to covid positive mothers here, not contracted infection from them,” said Sunil Agrawal, Professor Pediatric, said.
He added that they would stabilize the baby and save it in one or two days after shipment.
“We will advise mothers to return to the hospital, if the baby suffers from fever or covid symptoms, after being dismissed from the hospital,” Agarwal said.
