Coimbatore: City Corporation has vaccassed 1,919 people at their door after the drive was launched on September 9 for the benefit of parents and disabilities, which find it difficult to reach the vaccination center.
People are asked to apply for City Corporation and medical professionals from the Civic body reaching them.
After the union government introduced a booster dose for the newest elderly, the company asked them to register to get it on the doorway.
The corporation has announced the plan to vaccinate the door for a booster dose on January 18, an official said with Wing Health.
“In three days, we received 860 requests.
We have discussed 120 of them and efforts are being carried out to reach another.
Those who have not registered so far can call 0422-2302323 to register,” he said.
Transportation is the biggest challenge in reaching beneficiaries.
“The company hired 47 Autorickshaw to reach people who need a vaccine, to inspect people in house isolation and to collect samples on the doorway,” the official said.
While the west and south of the city each is allocated 10 vehicles.
, Another zone has nine each.
The Civic’s body chose an autorickshaws because they were more economical than taxis and were easy to use on narrow streets.
Vehicles have been allocated for Zonal Covid-19 control centers and urban primary health centers.
The civil body uses the Tamil Nadu Auto vehicle and the All Vehicle Drivers Association because they quote the lowest prices.
“Vehicles will be used for four months at a cost of 50.7 lakh.
Only come to 900 per day, including rent,” officially added.
