Chennai: The fresh Covid-19 case was dipped further on Saturday, when TN registered 1,969 cases compared to 1985 on Friday.
Cases in at least 14 districts increased marginally and only three districts saw a difference in at least 10 cases in the last 24 hours.
Since March 2020, 25.73 Lakh people have been infected with Covid-19 and 34,289 of them dead.
On Saturday, 29 people died of infection, while 1839 of them were dismissed from the country’s registry.
At the end of day 20,286 people were still undergoing treatment.
While 7259 still has a hospital, 1835 people are in the Covid treatment center.
“Hospital occupancy and oxygen requirements have dropped dramatically over the past month.
Many beds continue to remain empty,” said Medical Education Director Dr.
R Narayaabu.
Coimbatore, who reported 223 cases continued to report the highest number of cases in the state.
It is also the only district to have more than 2,000 people in the list of active cases.
But cases in the Western District have dropped from 239 on Friday.

Cases in Chennai also increased from 189 to 194 during the same period of time.

Among the 29 deaths, Salem reported five, followed by three in Tiruppur and two in five Chennai, Tiruvallur, Cuddalore, Trichy and Nilgiris.
While 11 districts reported one death, 20 other districts reported zero death.
