2.2kg Amphetamine seized from Nigeria Nigeria

Coimbatore: The Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) caught Nigeria National at the Junction Coimbatore train station here on Sunday night and confiscated amphetamines from Him.
The value of drugs seized ranges from Rs 90 lakh to RS 1.10 Crore in the international market.
According to a press statement issued by Amit Ghawate, Zonal Director, NCB, Chennai control unit, on Monday, the NCB team, Madurai, Zone, intercepted by Nigeria National Edwin Kingsely, 42, at the coimbatore train station on Sunday and confiscated 2.2 kg of white crystals which is believed to be amphetamine.
Kingpin from syndicates and involved in drug trafficking for the past three years, Kingsely traveled at Kerala Express from Delhi.
Alleged that the confiscated amphetamine was purchased from Delhi.
The opportunity was hidden in eight small packages wrapped in carbon paper.
Samit Ghawate said in a statement that the involvement of African citizens, especially Nigerians, in narcotics trade and synthetic drugs increased.
Coimbatore, Salem, Erode and Tirupur have become a hub for African citizens.
Tirupur becomes a textile hub frequented by African citizens with a guise involved in the textile business.
He said amphetamines made from Ephedrine / Pseudoephedrine, substances controlled under narcotics law and psychotropic substances (NDPS), 1985.
It affects the central nervous system and is increasingly used as a rave party drug.
