Coimbatore: City police on Tuesday arrested a 32-year-old National Rwanda and confiscated 2.5kg of marijuana from him.
The person arrested was identified as Ishimwe Stebbins of Gahunga.
He was a MSC software system students in private universities in Saravanampatti during 2012-17 and had turned to marijuana peddling after completing the course, police said.
Saravanampatti K Chellanmani sub-inspector and the team have found it carrying a sack containing contrabands near the Tasmac outlet at Saravanampatti – Keeranatham Road on Tuesday night.
“He lives in a rented room in Keeranatham and is used to supply marijuana to young people in KovilPalalayam.
He contacted them through whatsapp.
His visa expires last July and he lives illegally in India,” said a police officer specialized camping team in Pollachi for Catch vendors.
Police also seized motorbikes, two cellphones and 1,300 from Stebbins.
He was ordered under the Section 20 (B) (II) (b) Narcotics drugs and psychotropic substances, 1985, and taken to the Puzhal Center Prison.
