Kanpur: City police claim to have broken the gang between countries with a vehicle thief with the arrest of two people on Tuesday.
As many as 41 two wheels, stolen from all states and other countries, have recovered from them.
Kingpin gang, who managed to escape, has been identified as Chotey Chandel from Tedha Village, Hamirpur.
Two adjutant chandel, which was arrested, was identified as Bauwan and Mohit Chandel from the Bidhnoo region of Kantra District.
DCP South Raveena Tyagi said police Naubasta arrested Bauwan near Samadhi Puliyah during the trip check-drive vehicle on Monday night.
He drove a two-wheeled vehicle stolen.
“Because he was questioned, the defendant claimed to have stolen several vehicles along with two of his studs including the King-pin Chotely Chandel and Mohit Chandel.
He also said that the stolen vehicle was parked in their homes,” DCP said.
“During the attack at the Chotey Chandel King-Pin house in Tedha Village in Hamirpur, the police restored 20 stolen two-wheeled vehicles.
However, Chotey managed to give the police slip.
Likewise, the police team restored 15 two-wheeled stolen from Bauwan’s house and 6 stolen vehicles From the house of Mohit in Bidhnoo, the district, “said police officials” they used to prepare fake documents to sell stolen vehicles.
The involvement of various city transportation department employees cannot be ruled out, “another police officer added.
The case under the relevant IPC section includes 379 (theft), 411 (dishonestly accepting the stolen property), 473 (making or having a fake seal, etc.), 420 (cheating), 467 (valuable security forgery, 468), 468 (forgery for cheating purposes) and 471 (using as a genuine false document) was registered against the defendant, the official said further.
The raid is ongoing to catch the gang king-pin possible.
