Lucknow: Two cases of Kappa variants from Covid-19 have been detected in Uttar Pradesh, according to an official statement released on Friday.
Sequencing genome 109 samples were carried out at King George’s Medical College here in the last few days.
The Delta Plus Covid-19 variant was found in 107 samples, while the Kappa variant was found in two samples, a statement issued after a meeting of routine review of Yogi Yogi Aditanaath.
“The two variants are not new to the country.
Genom sequencing facilities are increasing in the country,” he added.
At present, the daily level of peposititivity in the state is 0.04 percent.
When asked about the Kappa variant, the Secretary of the Additional Chief (Health) Amit Mohan Prasad said that previously also cases of variants were found in the state.
“There is nothing to worry about.
This is the Coronavirus variant and the treatment is possible,” he said.
When asked in the district where this variant was found, Prasad did not divulge details and said it would create fear among people.
