‘2-child norms are likely to nominate rural polls in Bihar’

Patna: A day after CM Nith Kumar said the mere framing law would not serve the purpose of concerning population control, the Panchayati Raj minister Samrat Choudhary said on Tuesday that the state had provisions since 2006-07 that each individual has more than two children cannot oppose the election Urban local body in Bihar.

The minister said the department of Raj Pancayati will bring Amendment to Pancayati Raj Act, 2005 to facilitate new provisions in the 3-level PIRYATI system.
In 2016, around 10 Lakh candidates were in a commotion for more than 2.58 lakh posts in Pancahayats.

“One cannot think of population control without educating women,” he told reporters in Motahari on Monday.
Former Deputy CM and BJP Rajya Sabha Sushil Kumar Modi members said education and incentives to girls were the only way to control birth rates.
He said in Bihar, the reproductive rate was 2.7%, which would be reduced to 2.1% by 2025 and 2.0% in 2031.
“The level of reproduction has no relationship with any religion,” he said, adding to the increase in the economy hampered the development economy.
The day before, CM representative CM Renu Devi said education for men was equally important to control the population.
He said women were suppressed by men for more children because of lack of education and consciousness.
On the other hand, RJD’s main opposition warns the center of strict steps to control the population.
State President RJD Jagadand Singh reminded the center of the impact on the population control measures taken by Sanjay Gandhi late Congress.
