‘2 Covid symptoms that can last for one year’

In accordance with the latest research published in the Lancet journal, almost half of the people who were hospitalized with Covid, experienced at least one persistent symptoms between shortness of breath and fatigue which lasted up to one year.
This study revealed that the determination of breath and lung disorders lasted the longest, with about one in three people who experienced it.
Learning
The study was based on 1,276 patients from Wuhan in China and found that “most symptoms” covid hospital patients were completed in a year.
It was found that Covid survivors treated in hospitals were less healthy than those who were not infected with the SARS-COV-2 virus.
“Although most have carried out a good recovery, health problems survive in some patients, especially those who are critically ill while living in their hospital,” BIN CAO researchers, from the National Center for Respiratory Medicine, Chinese Friendship Hospital in China, said in a statement.
He added, “Our findings show that recovery for some patients will take more than a year, and this must be taken into account when planning shipping health care services”.
Methodology followed for this research
The same research team previously reported the findings of 1,733 victims who were hospitalized six months after infection.
This study found that three quarters of patients had persistent health problems.
For long investigation, 1,276 of 1,722 were more observed for 12 months for a long health assessment.
These participants underwent a health check in six and 12 months from the date they first experienced symptoms.
The team found that most of the symptoms were resolved over time, regardless of the severity of the infection.
The proportion of patients still experienced at least one symptom after a year down from 68 percent in six months to 49 percent at 12 months.
Muscle weakness is also a common symptom reported with about half of patients who experience it at six months.
This is reduced to one in five patients.
One third of patients reported experiencing shortness of breath at 12 months, higher than 30 percent reported the symptoms at six months.
After six months, 353 patients underwent CT scanning.
It was found that half of them showed lung abnormalities in their scan and were advised to get scanning at 12 months.
118 patients who completed the scan after 12 months, the number of people whose disorders declined, but were still high in some critically ill.
Male or Female: Who is more vulnerable?
Compared to men, women 1.4 times more likely to report muscle fatigue and weakness, twice as likely to report anxiety or depression and three times more likely to have lung disorders after 12 months.
People who are treated with corticosteroids during pain 1.5 times more likely to experience fatigue or muscle weakness after 12 months compared to those who are not treated with corticosteroids.
