Jammu / Srinagar: Two soldiers and seven terrorists were killed in a shootout at J & K on Thursday, including two incidents in the Sunderbani sector along the control line in the Rajouri Clock district.
The three terrorist infiltrators were shot dead along the LOC were Pakistan, said the army.
The two soldiers killed in one of the meetings in Rajouri were identified as Naib Subarar Sreejith M and Sepoy Maruprolu Jaswanth Reddy.
“Based on information about infiltration and terrorist movements in the Sundarai sector area, the army has been looking for them since June 29,” said defense spokesman Lt Devender Anand in Jammu.
“This information was confirmed today when a search patrol and destroying terrorists in the Forest area of Dadal.
The Army Party challenged them and the terrorists opened fire, in addition to the hand grenade of lobbing.
This caused a fierce meeting where two terrorists from Pakistan were killed.” Two rifles AK-47 and a large number of ammunition was found in the killed terrorists.
The army is exploring the area for more infiltrators until late at night.
Third Pakistani terrorists were killed in a meeting along other parts of Loc in Rajouri during the day, a military spokesman said.
In southern Kashmir, Fourterrorists – two of them from Lashkar-e-Taiba – killed in a separate meeting at Pulwama and Kulgam Post-Midnight on Wednesday.
The IGP (Kashmir Range) Vijay Kumar said while two terrorists were killed in the Puchal Pulwama area in an overnight joint operation by the police and the armed forces, the other two were shot down at Zodar Kulgam.
The terrorists were killed in Zodar owned by Lashkar-e-Taiba, Kumar said.
The other two still have to be identified.
Beginning on Wednesday, security forces had killed one of the longest terrorists who were still alive from Hezbul Mujahidin at a meeting in the Hand-Handwara Kupwara North Kashmir area.
