Mumbai: Anti-narcotics cells (ANC) from Mumbai Police have arrested two people for allegedly having drugs forbade Mephedrone (MD) worth more than Rs 5.7 Crore on the western outskirts of Goregaon, an official said on Thursday.
The ANC bandra unit on Wednesday carried out attacks and recovery of MD drugs and brown sugar from the defendant Sanjib Nimay Sarkar (39) and Salim Akbar Khan (41), the official said.
The defendant who was arrested was the largest supplier of MD drugs and brown sugar in the suburban area, he said, adding that the Duo had been ordered under the relevant provisions of the narcotics law and psychotropic substances (NDPS).
Further probes are taking place to identify the source of contraband goods and customers to whom the defendant will supply drugs, the official said.
