Mumbai: A staff of land handling agencies and passengers who were bound by Dubai were arrested by CISF at Mumbai Airport on Friday in a case related to the recovery of the US dollar worth 45 lakh, a CISF officer said.
Ritesh Parker from the Aviaxpert land handling agency was first intercepted in terminal-II facility by security personnel and “USD 60,000 worth around RS 45 Lakh currency recovered from ownership” during his fans.
The currency recovered from under the clothes and socks of the staff who had airport entries, the officer said.
He told the CISF personnel that cash would be handed over to a passenger identified as Sufiyaan Shahnawaz Shaikh, bound to Dubai from Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, he said.
But passengers refused involvement in this case.
However, Central Industrial Security Forces (CISF), said Parker confirmed that he would hand over foreign currency to the passenger, he was stopped with the help of airline and this issue was informed to customs officials and air intelligence, the CISF officer added.
