Hyderabad: Adding other feathers to the lid, the hyderabad cruise club (YCH) has changed the lives of two economically retreating students from the city because they have been officially appointed to the Indian Navy as sailors.
Both students – Erra Durga Prasad (20) and Gowtham Kankatla (21) – from Sendam Rasoolpura realized their dreams after duty with YCH.
Pastor Lingam Prasad works at a photocopy shop, while his mother is a sweeper in a motorcycle showroom.
Ms.
Gowtham Vijyalakshi faced the worst of her rude and alcoholic husband.
He did whatever strange work he could get to make a living for his family after his husband died of liver cirrhosis in 2007.
Prasad and Gowtham struggled to adapt to the early stages of sailing with a yacht club.
In the case of Prasad, the storm discussed the boat and needed a coast guard to save him during his first attempt at Lake Pawn in Maharashtra.
Prasad bagged a bronze medal in India International Regatta in 2017, which catapulted it to No.1 position in India in the Junior category.
Prasad tried to the Navy’s junior fleet in 2016 and was chosen.
Finally, he joined his senior fleet in 2021.
Gowtham was too struggling to keep his legs strongly on the boat in Hussainsagar.
After a lot of resilience, he won his first national gold medal in 2016.
Vijyalakshi did not have much hope when Gowtham tried to participate in water sports and finally gave up on his request.
When he was 10 years old, Gowtham joined YCH.
“I never agreed to his request first because he was only a child.
He came to me asking that he wanted to do dangerous things in the waters.
We never expected that he would pass.
But Gowtham surprised us all,” Vijyalakshmi said.
Tii.
Prasad and Gowtham completed their training at Odisha and had received their first official post in Mumbai.
