2 killed, 30 injured after the bus fell from the bridge

Haveri: Two people died, and 30 others were injured after a private bus fell from Overbridge Devagiri to the service road at the National Highway-48 on the outskirts of Haveri on Saturday.
The incident occurred at Wee hours when the bus was heading to Gokak from Bengaluru.
The deceased was the Shivaraj Devalapur bus driver, 34, from Besavi, and a passenger Sujata Kamatar, 35, from Dharwad.
Sustainable passengers with minor injuries and police transferred them to Haveri and KimS District Hospital, Hubballi.
“Around 4 in the morning, the bus crashed the flyover bridge and then fell 40 feet to the service road below.
The bus was upside down twice before stopping on the service road.
All passengers fell asleep when the accident took place,” said Somappa, one of the passengers on the bus.
He is from Gadag.
The case has been registered at the Rural Haveri Police Station.
