New Delhi: Absorption of home tests to detect Covid-19 infection has increased significantly during the current surge with 2 lakh house tests used in the last 20 days, against 3,000 throughout 2021, Director General of the Indian Medical Research Council (ICMR) Balram Bhargava said Even when he asserted that the overall test in the country was maintained at a level that was comparable to the second wave.
“Many testing commodities, whether it is for RT-PCR, whether it is for fast antigen tests or for home antigen tests, or additional equipment such as viral transportation media or RNA extraction kits.

The government said the recent surge in the case of everyday and the high level of participants was accompanied by an increase in daily testing during the last four days every day.
The number of districts with a positive rate of more than 5% has increased significantly to 515 districts from 335 in a week.
Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh are among the ‘States of Concern’ by soaring the pace of front and load.

Maharashtra and Karnataka themselves contributed 28% of the total active case.
More than 11 states and UTS recorded more than 50,000 active cases, while 13 countries have active cases in the range of 10,000-50,000.
Break 12 states have less than 10,000 active cases.
