SRINAGAR: Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorists ambushed the BSF convoy at Jammu-Srinagar NH in the Mir Bazar area of Kunds Regency South Kashmir on Thursday afternoon, which led to meetings where two CRPF personnel were injured.
The report said that two terrorists hid at home in the area and troops involved in the shootout with them.
One of the two CRPF personnel, Umesh Singh from Jharkhand, was injured in the initial phase of the shootout.
Singh together with another injured police, whose identity was not immediately known, hospitalized.
Official sources said two injured civilians were Sahil Yaqoob Bhat (25) Dartar in Anantnag and Shahid Farooq Sheikh (22) from the Larm in Kulgam.
They were injured at the location of the meeting from the bullets fired by terrorists who were hiding, the sources said.
Security forces took all precautions to ensure lower guarantee damage because the target building was a big, inspector general of the police, Kashmir Range, said Vijay Kumar.
Kumar and Commander General Commander Victor Force General General Rashim Bali had reached Mirbazar and supervised the operation in place.
