Ghaziabad: Police on Sunday arrested two members of a gang of vehicle lifters and recovered eight wheels Loni two of them.
Police identified the accused as Jai Karan (24), a resident of Shamli, and Sanjay Kumar (28), a native of Delhi.
More than ten cases, including under section IPC and ARM theft act, filed against Kumar in various police stations in Ghaziabad and other areas of Delhi-NCR.
Loni Circle Officer Rajneesh Kumar Upadhyay said that the police, patrolling the city, saw two men with bicycles on Sunday.
When police asked to see the document bike, the accused said they forgot to get the same.
“The police gave them time to ask their relatives to come up with the newspapers.
But they started giving different reasons,” said Upadhyay.
The police then took the duo to Loni police station, where the accused confessed their crimes.
“They are used to lift vehicles from public areas and parking lots and sell them to people and scrap dealers in Delhi at cheap prices.
Later, police searched their residence in Loni and restore eight two-wheelers, along with illegal gun,” added Pistol Illegal , “added Upadhyay)..
the police booked the accused under IPC sections 379 (punishment for theft), 411 (dishonestly receiving stolen property), 482 (punishment for using a false property mark) and the relevant parts of the ACR.
