Chennai: Two men have submitted a separate complaint with the Chennai Police Commissioner against former Minister of Tamil Nadu S P Velumani and Udumalai Radhakrishnan because they cheated them.
R Thiruvengadam, 51, from Coimbatore filed a petition to the Office of the City Police Commissioner on Monday alleged that the former Minister of AIADMK Velumani had deceived him Rs 1.25 Crore at the promise of assigning civil contracts to him.
Thiruvengadam stated that Velumani, who he knew since 2002, promised to assign him as a civil contract for the payment of ‘down payment’ as a commission in 2016.
Thiruvengadam stated that he had paid Rs 1 Crore to the minister at Greenways Residence.
In Chennai in March 2016 and the other RS ​​20 Lakh in July that year, despite RS 5 Lakh paid to the Minister’s personal assistant.
However, Thiruvengadam did not get a contract as promised.
He demanded his money back.
On July 15, when he met Velumani again, the latter was allegedly threatening to eliminate him if he demanded the money again.
DS Devendran, 42, from Ponneri in the Tiruvallur district, who worked as an assistant office of the former Minister of Livestock Udumalai Radhakrishnan, alleged that the former minister and several other people had collected Rs 1.5 Crore promised to get government work to several people and deceived him.
The complainant introduced many people to former ministers and they paid cash to get government work.
Both complaints have been forwarded to the Central Crime Branch (CCB) for further investigation.
