PUDUCHERRY: The Puducherry police arrested two men who robbed a woman and mother from 36 rulers of gold jewelry and RS 19,000 in cash in the knifepoint after binding them.
Within three hours after the crime, the police arrested the defendant, Iyyanar Lawspet and Abinesh Kottakupan in the Villupuram district in Tamil Nadu, and restored stolen jewelry and cash.
Police said S Prema, 32, Lawspet and his mother’s pushpalattha, 56, were in their home when two masked men entered the house and beat them.
The robbers threatened them in the knifepoint and binded their limbs to use the sheets.
The robbers also close their eyes and cover their mouths using sheets.
Prema has bought 36 Gold Sovereign jewelry for her wedding held on August 20 and made them safe.
The robbers managed to track jewelry and RS 19,000 cash and escape.
After a long struggle, Prema freeed himself and called his cousin to help.
He filed a complaint with Lawspet police.
He gave instructions that one of the masked men looked like a young man who learned to type from the Mother Institute.
The police arrested him and his aide.
They claimed to rob women from their valuables and cash.
The restored jewelry and cash was handed over to Prema.
